Clarimed recently launched its online fact-based analytical insights into medical devices, diseases, procedures, and manufacturers. Founded by MIT bioengineer and McKinsey & Co veteran Nora Iluri, PhD, founder and CEO of Clarimed, the company represents the first independent rating agency for health care, and, specifically, for medical devices.

With health care lacking an independent and objective rating entity, consumers, physicians, purchasing organizations, and payers often base their decisions on brand names rather than quality and performance. The rating agency’s core features include health care product ratings, shared experiences and opinions, safety information, and FDA approval reference.

"Clarimed’s mission is to provide well-organized, consumer-focused information, in addition to product ratings and other user experiences and opinions. At a fundamental level, Clarimed will bring transparency to the healthcare market, enabling users to make better health care decisions," said Iluri.
