A white paper released by BSA LifeStructures explores how patient satisfaction is related to the environment of the healthcare facility they’re in.

The white paper utilizes a method called sentiment analysis, which seeks to quantify the responses of written surveys from patients. Responses are filtered through a computer, which uses an algorithm to distill the responses, taking into consideration tone, context, and other sources of insight.

The method can help planners better assign cost/benefit attributes to certain design features, such as high-performance acoustical tiles and anti-microbial surfaces.
