Following a 4-year development process, AAMI has announced that it will unveil an extensive new training program this summer. Called “AAMI University,” the new program will offer “an expanded roster of live and on-demand courses.” The courses will be addressed to both of the organizations constituencies: medical device manufacturers and healthcare technology management professionals.

First revealed in 24×7 in an interview with AAMI COO Steve Campbell early this year, the AAMI University has been developed in consultation with FDA, The Joint Commission, and other industry organizations and experts. The courses will be “a mix of face-to-face training sessions, webinars, and online presentations.” Students will be able to earn certificates, and will have access to a tool that helps them track their credits and download certificates.

The first new online course to be introduced will be aimed at medical device quality engineers. It will be followed by six other courses later in the year. Once launched, the AAMI University will be accessible at university.aami.org.
