The Oregon Biomedical Association (OBA) has added two new members to its board. David Gillaspie and Bartley Onoday were elected in March as vice president and treasurer, respectively. They join current board members Keith Waters, president and Michael O’Brien, secretary. Outgoing officers include Russ Magoon, president, and Jonathan McNamara, treasurer.
Having joined the biomedical field in 1997, Gillaspie has worked for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Portland, Ore, for the past 5 years. While with the United States military, he worked in Germany and participated in a humanitarian mission to Central America. He is currently completing his bachelors degree in technical management.
Onoday has participated in the biomedical community for the last 17 years and been a member of the OBA since 2000. A veteran of the US Air Force, he has worked at Oregon Health and Sciences University, specializing in surgery, since 2007. Previous experience includes sales and service for anesthesia equipment supply for the state of Oregon and general biomed support for Tuality Community Hospital and Group Health Cooperative Seattle.Onoday received his degree from Spokane Community College Biomedical Technician program in 1998 and is CBET-certified.
