Power management company Eaton, Raleigh, NC, has enhanced its Power Xpert 9395 uninterruptible power system (UPS) to improve efficiency and scalable battery runtimes. The latest version delivers a unity power factor rated with 275 kilowatt (kW) modules at a power rating of 675-1100 kW/kVA, providing up to 10% more power with the same footprint while reducing the total cost of ownership.

Originally released in 2007, the Power Xpert 9395 UPS now has more than 9,300 units installed worldwide. According to Eaton, the newest model of the unit produces up to 33% less heat without decreasing reliability and supports up to 10% more IT racks, allowing end users to cut operating costs. The company’s Energy Saver system also allows the system to provide 99% efficiency across most loads and a double-conversion efficiency of 97%. The modular design helps provide data centers with an advanced scalability architecture, allowing them to scale up gradually as they grow and avoid unnecessary investments in excess capacity. A touchscreen liquid crystal display (LCD) shares graphical energy data to help data center and facility operators better manage power consumption and costs.
