The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) has announced that it plans to hold a forum next month on issues related to supportability of healthcare technology. The event will assemble approximately 30 stakeholders from healthcare delivery and the medical device industry to discuss issues such as the availability of service manuals and replacement parts, training, and third-party repair. The association says that it hopes the session will help identify and prioritize the most important supportability issues and create a roadmap going forward.

To help set the agenda, AAMI is collecting feedback from HTM professionals and clinicians working in healthcare delivery, as well as representatives from medical device manufacturers. Those interested in participating should complete this survey rating various supportability issues. Responses will be collected through Tuesday, October 13.
