At last week’s Radiological Society of North America annual meeting, Konica Minolta Healthcare presented the KDR AU System, a new digital U-arm that is designed to provide efficient exams and optimal workflow. The digital radiography (DR) platform has a pre-programmed positioning capability, in addition to floor-mounted installation—all of which comes in a small footprint.

With Konica Minolta’s Ultra software, anatomy selections can be pre-programmed into the DR system, which means the patient’s arrival in the room for scanning requires only minor adjustments. The system also allows multiple images to be pre-programmed, which translates to reduced patient stress.

Technologists can accept and reject images at the patient’s side—and even add patients to the worklist as needed—with the floor-mounted system that fits 8-foot ceilings; users can maneuver the stand for easy positioning and efficient use of space.

“The new KDR advanced digital U-arm has so many unique, user-friendly features. It really is a tool designed by technologists for patients,” says Guillermo Sander, senior DR product manager for Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas. “The U-arm boasts a versatility that delivers time savings without sacrificing image quality, improving not only the patient experience but also clinician productivity.”
