If you’re looking for a new job and you’re headed to trade shows or career fairs, here’s a best practice shared by Jennifer Brown, national talent acquisition manager for ARAMARK, clinical technology services.

Jennifer said: “When you go to an event and you’re looking for a career opportunity, even though the event may be casual, come dressed professionally. And, bring a completed resume.”

Jennifer, an expert in her field, added that this will help show that you're serious. Do you have any tips that have worked for you? Comment here to share them.

And, our thanks to Jennifer—who always looks very professional.

May I add that in most Career and Trade Fairs, prospective employers do have interviewers available onsite. That any applicant should be ready not only to talk the "I'm familiar" language but also be able to "walk the walk". Beside selling oneself using some verbal abilities, as in "sales", one should also be prepared and able to demonstrate some of the basic technical abilities required by the position being applied for.

I believe the applicant has to plan in advance and be prepared for the first few interactions. Especially, the introduction part what you do currently what you have done in the past relevent to the positon. Do basic research about the company. One can communicate a lot non verbally and an expert recruitment manager can easily read it too. I have attended a seminar by Carol Goman on Non verbal communicatition and amazed to learn how much we communicate non verbally.
