Three-in-one biomedical tester; complement to TTL unveiled; new 5 kV megohmmeter
Fluke Unveils 5 kV MegOhmMeter
Fluke Corp (Everett, Wash), manufacturer of professional electronic test tools, introduces
a new insulation resistance tester. The 1550B MegOhmMeter replaces the 1550
MegOhmMeter and combines insulation resistance testing up to 5,000 V with measurement
storage and PC interface software. The 1550B features standard test voltages starting at
250 V, new programmable test voltages in 50-V steps from 250 V to 1,000 V and 100-V steps
from 1,000 V to 5,000 V, automatic calculation of dielectric absorption and polarization
index with no setup, improved ramp function from 0- to 5,000-V DC for breakdown testing
and measurement storage in 99 memory locations. Results download to a Windows®-based
computer using the Quicklink 1550B software and optical interface cable.
The meter provides insulation resistance testing up to 1 teraohm, with five standard
output voltages. It is powered by a high-capacity, rechargeable 12-V battery that provides
enough energy for as many as 2,500 tests.
The 1550B ships complete with a waterproof soft case for the tester and its
accessories, heavy-duty test leads, 5,000 V-rated probes, alligator clips, interface
adapter, and cable.

Rigels New Three-in-One Tester
Rigel Medical, part of the Seaward Group (County Durham, UK), has introduced a new
three-in-one biomedical tester to confirm the effective operation of patient medical
equipment.
The Rigel 344 combines the functions of a defibrillator tester, a pacemaker analyzer,
and an ECG arrhythmia simulator in one instrument.
The unit tests all defibrillators, including automated external defibrillators, and
measures both monophasic and biphasic waveforms. It also tests all external pacemakers and
allows the performance testing of any ECG equipment.
The Rigel 344 is compact, lightweight, and easy to use. It has a large four-line LCD
for the simultaneous display of all test measurements and a dedicated print key for
immediate documentation.

Michigan Instruments Announces New Addition to PneuView
Michigan Instruments (Grand Rapids, Mich) introduces the PneuView Flow Analyser. The
device is based on the IMT Medical PF300 Flow Analyser and is a complement to the
PneuView TTL® training and test lung systems.
The PneuView Flow Analyser provides an accurate, portable solution for measuring
pressure, gas volume, and flow rate on todays complex ventilators and other
respiratory care products. The Flow Analyser enhances the line of PneuView test lung
systems by adding the capability to measure temperature, humidity, oxygen, and nitrous
oxide concentration. Together these systems help insure the accuracy, reliability, and
safety of all respiratory care equipment.
To learn more about the Flow Analyser, contact Michigan Instruments at (616) 554-9696,
or visit the companys Web site at www.michiganinstruments.com.
