Fluke Introduces Temperature/Humidity Logger
Fluke Biomedical (Carson City, Nev), in conjunction with Hart Scientific (American Fork, Utah) announces a new digital temperature and humidity logger for ultra-accurate recording of environmental conditions in critical locations such as calibration and research laboratories, pharmaceutical and chemical storage areas, and many medical environments.

The model 5020-A—the DewK—accepts inputs from as many as two sensors that can be mounted directly on the unit or remotely (up to 50 feet away). Each sensor comes calibrated for temperature and humidity from Hart Scientific and contains its own calibration data so recalibration does not require the DewK itself.

Two sensor models are available: The S model reads temperature to ±0.25°C; the H model reads temperature to ±0.125°C.

The display of the DewK can be configured by users for virtually any combination of graphical and statistical data from one or two sensors. Available statistics include minimum, maximum, dew point, and rates of change.

International Light Introduces Traceable Exposure Monitor
International Light, Newburyport, Mass, a Katahdin company, has launched a new NIST-traceable exposure monitor that is dedicated to measuring the lamp output in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia exposure chambers.

The IL Hyperbilirubinemia Exposure Monitor features a detector probe with a 6-foot-long cord that can be placed exactly where the infant will receive output from lamps to verify their proper output levels. The monitor helps personnel determine when to replace the phototherapy lamps, whose degradation over time might otherwise go unnoticed.

The monitor features simple, push-button operation, provides readings in mW/cm2 or mW/cm2/nm on a 4.5 digit display, and operates over a 100 mW/cm2 to 500 mW/cm2 dynamic range and 422 nm to 488 nm spectral range. The monitor is powered by a 9 V battery that automatically shuts off after 2 minutes and comes with a cushioned rubber case.
