Sonora and Prosonic sign supply agreement; Unfors announces new president; USCS and
Radiology Partners Inc enter agreement Sonora Medical Systems and Prosonic
enter Supply and Development Agreement
Sonora Medical Systems, a supplier of aftermarket products, services, and test
equipment to the medical imaging market, announces the signing of an exclusive license and
supply agreement with Prosonic Co Ltd (Seoul, South Korea). Under the terms of the
agreement, Sonora will convey certain proprietary capabilities and intellectual property
to Prosonic for use in that companys repair operations on diagnostic ultrasound
transducers. The agreement also allows Prosonic to perform refurbishment and supply of
diagnostic ultrasound systems in South Korea and other markets in Asia. Prosonic designs
and manufactures more than 10,000 transducer probes per year for various ultrasound
companies worldwide, and recently established a joint venture with Siemens Medical
Solutions to manufacture some of its transducers.
Speaking of the agreements, Sang Dong, managing director of Prosonic said, These
two agreements are significant to us as we are able to not only focus on manufacturing
transducers worldwide, but also to expand our role into a growing repair and refurbishment
market in Asia. We are extremely optimistic to carry out this new mission within the Asian
market with Sonora.
Unfors Announces New President
Unfors Instruments Inc (New Milford, Conn), a subsidiary of Unfors Instruments AB
(Billdal, Sweden), has appointed Patrick Pyers as president and CEO of the company. Since
1999, Pyers has served as vice president of sales and marketing for Unfors and has been
instrumental in the development of the organization within the United States and Canada.
Unfors manufactures measuring instruments for quality assurance and service of diagnostic
x-ray equipment and a line of radiation protection meters to increase the radiation
awareness and decrease the dose.

USCS and
Radiology Partners Inc Enter Agreement
USCS Equipment Technology Solutions (Brookfield, Wis), a
provider of asset management services to health care, has announced the signing of a
strategic agreement with Radiology Partners Inc (RPI, Tampa, Fla), an affiliate of
MedAssets, HSCA. Under the terms of the agreement, RPI members will have access to the
same USCS services enjoyed by acute-care members.
RPI is a group purchasing organization with a focus on
radiology. The organization has more than 1,500 clinic and physician practices as members
representing more than 10,000 physicians in 36 states. RPI has joined with USCS for its
Lifecycle program, which reduces, controls, and manages costs in all aspects of asset
management.
RPI is excited to provide this solution to our
members, says Tonia Kraus, director and general manager of RPI. The
long-standing results USCS has achieved for hospital radiology clients should translate
well to the diagnostic imaging center environment.
The USCS Lifecycle program provides two major components:
management maintenance and equipment acquisition resource. The program includes needs
assessment and equipment planning, technology selection, and equipment financing to aid
health care facilities in the acquisition, operation, and maintenance of clinical
equipment. The USCS Lifecycle program recently earned an endorsement of the American
Hospital Association. |
