Patient Simulators
BC Biomedical
BC Biomedical (St Louis) offers the PS-2200 series of high-end
microprocessor-based multiarameter patient simulators. Each model provides ECG, 49
arrhythmias, blood pressure, respiration, and temperature simulation. Models are available
with one, two, or four independent blood-pressure outputs. A customizable training mode
helps users practice the identification of arrhythmias. All models support the
fetal/maternal, cardiac output, and SpO2 options and are flash programmable for upgrades.
The MSP-2100 module for SpO2 is available on all of the new BC Biomedical patient
simulators, including the new series of NIBP simulators. The PS-2200 family makes viewing
and selecting the desired waveforms and parameters quick and intuitive, with all
operational information available at the same time on two cursor-based graphic displays,
allowing for easy maneuvering through parameters and scrolling through available options.

Fluke Biomedical
The MPS450 multiparameter patient simulator by Fluke Biomedical (Carson City,
Nev) is a next-generation, handheld tool that lets you test most patient monitors,
arrhythmia-detection units, blood-pressure monitors, cardiac-output monitors, and EKG
machines. The MPS450 has many features, including the following: 43 arrhythmia selections;
12-lead ECG simulation; a menu-driven interface that provides an intuitive method of
navigating the multitude of tests and functions; four invasive blood-pressure channels,
including Swan-Ganz; respiration and temperature simulation; blood-pressure
synchronization with ECG; a large, easy-to-read display; optional cardiac-output
simulation; and optional fetal/maternal ECG, direct simulations with intrauterine-pressure
waveform. (800) 648-7952; www.flukebiomedical.com.
Sencore Inc
Sencore Inc (Sioux Falls, SD) offers the PS97 universal SpO2 and patient simulator, which
combines SpO2 testing and key patient simulations in one portable, handheld instrument.
The PS97 tests the monitor asif an actual patient was connected to it. ECG/EKG, IBP,
respiration, pulse oximetry, and temperature readings can be generated simultaneously.
According to Sencore customers, this saves time and improves their overall testing
efficiency. With everything you need to performance-test all of your patient-monitoring
equipment in one easy-to-use instrument, the PS97 makes SpO2 and patient simulations
efficient and accurate with little chance of user mistakes or interpretation errors. The
PS97 also substantially reduces testing time and costs. (800) 736-2673; www.sencore.com.
Netech
The MiniSim 1000 by Netech Corp (Hicksville, NY) is a small but comprehensive patient
simulator with a number of unique features. It provides a full 12-lead ECG signal with
more than 40 arrhythmias, dual invasive blood pressure, respiration, and temperature. It
also delivers square, sine, and triangle performance waveforms. The MiniSim 1000s
arrhythmia selections include pacer waveforms, ST segment changes, and both atrial and
ventricular waveforms. The dual blood pressure and respiration waveforms are synchronized
to the ECG and track with all arrhythmia selections. Multiple static and dynamic pressure
readings are selectable, as are apnea events. Operation of the handheld MiniSim 1000 is
simple via menu-driven tactile keys using a large LCD screen. The instrument may be either
AC or battery operated. (800) 547-6557; www.netech.org.
