ENCLOSURE POWER DISTRIBUTION UNITS

Eaton Corp, Cleveland, introduces its Powerware enclosure power distribution units (ePDU). The portfolio of enclosure-based solutions is useful for data centers across all power densities, providing flexible power distribution for mixed-information technology environments such as blade servers, network, and storage applications. Powerware ePDUs offer features and options to match the unique requirements of each data center, from mounting options, to remote monitoring, to individual control of receptacles. Powerware ePDUs provide advanced metering, monitoring, and management capabilities. They complement uninterruptible power systems, distributing power to up to 45 receptacles per ePDU. The product line includes AC and DC power systems, power management software, remote monitoring, turnkey integration services, and site support.

SECONDARY REFERENCE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Hart Scientific, American Fork, Utah, adds the model 5609 secondary reference temperature sensor to its line of high-temperature platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs). The 100-ohm sensor has a temperature range of -200°C to 60°C, with short-term repeatability and long-term drift of ±0.01°C at 0°C. It can be ordered in 1/4-inch or 6-mm diameters. One-quarter-inch-diameter PRTs come in sheath lengths of 12, 15, or 20 inches. Six-millimeter-diameter PRTs come in sheath lengths of 300, 400, or 500 mm. The sensor can be ordered with a certificate of compliance or an optional NVLAP-accredited calibration from the manufacturer. Options include sensor characterization or full-system calibrations that include the performance of the sensor and readout. Calibrations are performed in the Hart Scientific laboratory. Applications include laboratory calibration and calibration in manufacturing facilities in biotech, medical device, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and process industries.

INTEGRATED SWITCHBOARD

The integrated switchboard (ISB) from GE Consumer & Industrial, Fairfield, Conn, provides applications for hospitals and other commercial settings and offers electrical contractors, consultants, and facility owners up to a 50% space reduction and up to 75% in installation labor savings compared with traditional, nonintegrated product solutions. The product's scope includes power panels up to 1200A; lighting panels (AQ, AE, AL) 400A and less; A–series lighting control panels; transformers (including TP1) 150KVA and less; lighting contactors 400A and less; and back-mounting plates. The new Speedi ISB configurator tool shortens production lead times to 6 weeks, and authorized distributors and salespeople can configure integrated switchboards, create drawings, and order directly from the field or customer location.

AUTOCLAVABLE TEMPERATURE PROBE

The Temperature Product Group of Measurement Specialties (MEAS), Dayton, Ohio, introduces a more robust MEAS 400 series autoclavable temperature probe for use in clinical environments. The probe allows steam autoclave sterilization up to 134°C (273°F) for a maximum of 20 minutes. The previous probe sterilization range was limited to 121°C. Higher temperatures are necessary to ensure complete sterilization of micro-organisms that can survive beyond autoclaving to 121ºC. The product uses a stable pressed-ceramic (thermistor) sensing element and offers a molded transition between a C-Flex cable, 10 feet (3 m) long, and a two-pin plug with molded Santoprene housing, ensuring the reliability of the probe after the autoclave process. MEAS probes are compliant with FDA regulations, 93/42/EEC CE-medical device directives, and EN12470.
