Xmark Corp unveiled the Assetrac asset locating system designed exclusively for use in health care environments and built on Xmark’s more than 25 years of experience in designing and building radio frequency identification (RFID) products for health care.
Poor asset utilization results not only in lost equipment and lost productivity, but also has a negative impact on patient care through prolonged wait times due to lack of equipment.
Xmark’s system can cover a single area, like the emergency department, or an entire campus. It also capitalizes on the existing IT infrastructure to reduce installation costs, and can even be interfaced with Wi-Fi and asset management technologies. Other features include the smallest tag on the market (according to the company) and flexible deployment options.
