JCR Extends Discount for Emergency Preparedness Conference

The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources (JCR) announce the extension of the early bird discount until March 31 for the sixth annual emergency preparedness conference April 8 and 9 in Washington DC.

New on the agenda, Ted Tully, administrative director for emergency preparedness at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and Marianne Coughlin, VP of operations at Mount Sinai, will share the lessons they learned about planning, coordination, and support under the most extreme circumstances. They, along with Ernest Benjamin, MD—a critical care physician at Mount Sinai and a Haitian—and others helped organize a large-scale relief mission to Haiti.

“Emergency Preparedness Compliance 2010” will help health care organizations turn concerns about staff readiness, patient surges, and functioning without essential services into strategies for preparedness. The conference will feature proven emergency planning methods that are a part of The Joint Commission standards.

The JCR has held the cost for the conference to 2008 prices and participants who register by March 31 will receive a $60 discount on the $749 cost per person. Organizations with three or more participants at the conference may register for $629 per person ($689 after March 31). The preconference is $319 per person before March 8 and $395 after.

To register, call JCR customer service at (877) 223-6866. For those unable to attend, an on demand recording of the conference will be available. Additional details and a conference agenda are available online.
