GE Healthcare, which provides health care IT solutions, has forged a relationship with University of Phoenix to provide college credit for GE Healthcare clinical systems technical training.

Forty-three technical courses are eligible for credit.

The company had launched the program internally for its own field service engineers, but extended it to biomeds seeking self-improvement and bachelor's and master's degrees. The university has almost 200 campuses and learning centers and online learning options, with courses spanning business, education, health care, management, and IT.

Technical courses eligible for credit include GE product courses such as Apex Pro telemetry; Solar and DASH patient monitors; Avance, Aespire, and Aisys anesthesia systems; CASE/Cardiosoft, MARS, and MUSE cardiology systems; LOGIQ, VIVID, and Voluson ultrasound equipment; and Giraffe infant care systems. The company offers Healthcare IT, which is also available for university credit.
