ECRI Institute's Center for Healthcare Environmental Management (CHEM) announces its upcoming Healthcare Environmental Manager (HEM) certification course, to be held April 12 to 16 at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, in Plano, Tex.

The five-day course will focus on compliance with standards from The Joint Commission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Protection Agency, and others. Attendees will learn best practices in emergency management, infection control, and reducing the risk of staff and patient injury and loss of property.

Students who pass an examination at the end of the course will be certified as Healthcare Environmental Managers and may use the professional designation “HEM.”
