BC Technical, a non-OEM provider of medical imaging solutions based in West Jordan, Utah, has acquired Ohio Valley Medical Systems, one of the largest MRI service providers specializing in Hitachi open MRI systems. The deal marks BC Technical’s fourth acquisition of 2015.

According to BC Technical, the addition of Ohio Valley Medical Systems allows the company to expand its nationwide service offering to include Hitachi MRI. It also helps solidify BC Technical’s position as a nationwide, independent service, systems and parts provider for CT, MR, NM, PET and PET/CT, and a viable alternative to the OEM.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this acquisition,” said Mark Alvarez, president and CEO of BC Technical. “The Ohio Valley engineers are true experts in their field, and we are pleased to welcome them to the BC Technical team.”

Ohio Valley Medical Systems, based in North Canton, OH, provides nationwide MRI service. Specializing in Hitachi systems, including the Airis, Airis II, Elite, and Altaire systems, Ohio Valley says it aims to provide customers with solid service at a reasonable and affordable cost.

“This will prove to be a valuable asset to our customers by expanding our service capability to other product lines and manufacturers,” said Thomas Hineman, CEO of Ohio Valley. “In addition, response time will be improved as we leverage the nationwide services of BC Technical’s field engineers and support staff.”
