Fluke Biomedical has launched a free online training center aimed at providing a full range of resources for the biomedical engineering community. Courses through the Advantage Training Center cover preventive maintenance and quality assurance for biomedical and diagnostic imaging equipment for biomeds at all skill levels, and include both introductory approaches and advanced technical applications.

“Having access to little or no product training is a real issue our customers face around the world,” said Jerry Zion, global training manager for Fluke Biomedical. “Inadequate training poses a serious risk to patient safety. Developing a common understanding of medical device risk management is crucial to improving the quality of global health.”

According to Fluke, the courses were developed by subject matter experts, including faculty from the biomedical engineering school at the University of Vermont. Content includes white papers, application notes, quizzes, and more than 20 hours of recorded modules. The electronic format is designed to allow participants to work at their own pace and enable mobile access from any location. Upon finishing a course, students must pass a quiz and receive a certificate of completion.

Fluke has announced plans to expand the training center as demand grows. Readers can access courses by registering an account through the Fluke website.
