Phoenix-based Beacon International and Aurora, Ohio-based Express Systems and Parts Network have announced the creation of Phoenix Medical, their joint equipment, parts, and service company. Phoenix Medical’s new office has opened in Cairo, Egypt, and will service the Middle East and Africa region.

The joint company has hired Hamdy Hassan, who recently retired from Philips Healthcare and boasts 30 years of experience, to head operations in Cairo.

“Phoenix Medical is a natural progression as our customers have requested parts sales and support for the equipment they have purchased from us,” says Jon DeRoost, president of Beacon International. “We are now able to provide throughout the Middle East and Africa the equipment sales, parts support and the technical expertise customers have been asking for.” says Jon DeRoost, President of Beacon International.

Akram Abdelaal, president of Express Systems and Parts Network, agrees with DeRoost about the strong efforts to bring this service to the Middle East, commenting: “We finally came up with the formula to work in the Middle East and Africa, having the opportunity to sell parts and service. With today’s currency changes and the need for more parts and services than ever before, we have established a company that can meet and surmount these challenges.”

Beacon International is a preowned medical imaging equipment company, which handles equipment acquisitions, deinstallations/installation, and complete project management. Moreover, Express Systems and Parts Network is a global leader in pre-owned medical equipment and spare parts.
