Siemens Medical Solutions’ acquisition of the diagnostic division of Bayer Healthcare is complete. As of January 1, Bayer Diagnostics and Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC) were merged into a single business unit.
With the entire medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics, and clinical IT value chain under one roof, Siemens is in a unique position to leverage trendsetting technologies for an improved quality of patient care at reduced costs.
The new CEO of Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics is Anthony Bihl, the previous president of the Diagnostics division of Bayer Healthcare; the chief operating officer will be Sid Aroesty, former president and COO of DPC; and Jochen Schmitz, the chief financial officer of the Siemens Medical Solutions Molecular Imaging division will be the CFO.
