Crowell Systems, an electronic medical record manufacturer, and nSpire Health offer a bi-directional interface connecting patient electronic records to pulmonary lung testing equipment.

This interface is a tool for allergy and asthma doctors. All of the information generated from the spirometer each time the patient is tested is now stored into Medformix, Crowell’s practice management systems. The historic results are graphed to illustrate the patient’s trending over time.

Users save time by eliminating double entry, transcription cost, and potential transcribing errors by pulling the output directly into the patient electronic medical record. The interface allows immediate access across the physician network to provide better patient care.
