In the aftermath of the tornado that devastated suburbs of Oklahoma City on May 19–20, GE is providing medical equipment and accessories to the Norman Regional Hospital. Because the Moore Medical Center was destroyed by the tornado, the Norman facility has seen a large influx of patients injured in the storm.

Norman Regional Health Foundation Executive Director Anne Clouse said, “When a community is literally torn apart by a disaster like this, it takes a whole other community of support to help us through this crisis. GE’s gift of this equipment is both timely and very much appreciated.”

In addition, the GE Foundation announced a $250, 000 donation to the American Red Cross. GE Foundation Chairman and President Bob Corcoran said, “While local agencies and relief organizations are still determining the full scope of destruction from this tornado, we have employees, customers and neighbors who have experienced loss. We hope that the donation of both equipment and disaster relief funds can help this community as they begin to recover from this devastating event.”
