Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City, announced a joint effort with GE Healthcare to help further reduce radiation dose in computed tomography (CT) procedures at its facilities by up to 50%.

Using GE Blueprint for low dose, the program includes a focus on reducing radiation during pediatric imaging procedures, accomplished by leveraging technologies and protocols to help doctors match body size and type to appropriate scans.

The announcement comes the year after GE announced its investment of more than $800 million in low dose technologies over the next 15 years.
