St. Cloud Hospital in Minnesota recently installed the Aquilion ONE/GENESIS Edition from Toshiba Medical. The system is located across a hallway from the emergency department and is being used for a wide range of exams, including neuro perfusion studies.
“We needed a CT system for our emergency department that would further decrease radiation dose to patients and improve workflow and efficiency for our staff, while also providing high-quality images for confident diagnoses,” says Joseph Klaers, director of imaging services at St. Cloud Hospital. “The Aquilion ONE/GENESIS Edition offers fast scanning that may help reduce the need for rescans due to artifacts, which happens often with critically ill and trauma patients. The Aquilion ONE/GENESIS Edition offers dynamic volume CT imaging that is sharp, fast, and small. Ideal for life-threatening conditions like heart disease and stroke, the system features an optimized beam spectrum based on PUREViSION Optics, PUREViSION CT Detector, and FIRST (MBIR), improving high-contrast spatial resolution up to 129% while reducing radiation dose 59.2 to 82.4%.
