To expand imaging capabilities and improve department productivity, Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc offers new and future innovations for the Aplio 500 and Aplio 300 ultrasound systems.

Toshiba’s advancements that will help to improve workflow and image quality include:

UltraExtend FX workstation: Recently FDA-cleared, UltraExtend FX is an offline workstation for advanced radiology applications, including Aplio 500’s Fly Thru. With the workstation, clinicians have full access to a host of clinical tools to review, analyze, report, and archive data quickly and easily.

Luminance (work-in-progress): A 4D rendering and lighting technique, Luminance can be used to examine the fetal face and other anatomical structures by applying color and illumination to enhance features.

New Toshiba transducers as works-in-progress include:

  • PVT-781VT (3–11 MHz): A high-resolution, endocavitary transducer designed for producing advanced endovaginal and prostate imaging. This transducer supports the Aplio 500’s Smart Fusion technology, which synchronizes CT or MR with ultrasound images on a single screen.
  • PLT-1005BT (5–14 MHz): A high-frequency, high-resolution linear array transducer ideal for small-parts imaging, including breast. This transducer has a wide aperture of 58 mm.

Toshiba offers quick assist protocols as a work-in-progress workflow enhancement, designed to automate workflow, increase consistency, and standardize exams from start to finish and from patient to patient.
