Varian Medical Systems, Lincolnshire, Ill, will exhibit its PaxScan 4336W wireless flat-panel detector at the annual meeting of RSNA in December. The detector features sixth-generation architecture incorporating 16-bit data acquisition. At 43 cm × 36 cm and 3.4 kg with battery, the 4336W transmits image data across a wireless link with transfer rates up to 170 Mbps, for a preview time of as little as 2 seconds.

The ruggedized 4336W design is well suited to mobile cart applications. The 4336W has a dedicated access point (host bridge) using the same interface as the wired 4336X, simplifying the integration challenge of going wireless.

Varian will be exhibiting in South Bldg, Hall A, Booths 4721 and 4721X at RSNA. For more information on the company’s PaxScan products, visit the Varian website.
