To get certified or not to get certified? That’s the question the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) seeks to answer—and sway healthcare technology management (HTM) professionals toward the latter.

Specifically, the ACCE is developing a long-range strategy to increase the number of certified clinical engineers both in North America and worldwide. To accomplish this goal, ACCE’s working group is conducting a survey for both its current members and those within the HTM field unaffiliated with the ACCE to determine the obstacles preventing HTM professionals from achieving certification.

Once the survey confirms the underlying roadblocks to certification, the ACCE says it “will develop a long-range strategy to increase certification with this data.”
