AAMI has announced that the organization is collecting submissions for new product ideas to supplement its existing offerings of books, manuals, and videos, in order to develop additional resources that meet the needs of the healthcare technology and sterilization communities. Anyone who has an idea for a new product that could be developed as a resource for professionals in the medical device industry or healthcare management is invited to submit it to AAMI via email by September 14, 2015.

The email should include the following information:

  • The product idea, including the proposed content and format (such as a book, video, online service, or app)
  • The intended audience
  • Whether you would you be willing to lead the development of the product, and/or suggestions for authors or project managers who would be qualified to do so

Product ideas could deal with medical device design, preventive maintenance strategies, sterilization, clinical alarms, quality systems, home healthcare, purchasing strategies, or related topics. (To see products that AAMI has already developed, visit the online AAMI Store.) According to AAMI, the organization wants to develop products that are both relevant and timely, and believes that those who are on the front lines of healthcare technology are in the best position to determine the most helpful resources.

Product pitches should be emailedto Melissa Coates, special projects editor, at [email protected].
