The American College of Clinical Engineering will be holding an hour-long webinar on health level 7 on Thursday, May 9. Moderated by ACCE education committee chair Ilir Kullolli, the webinar features speaker John G. Rhoads, PhD, co-chair of the HL7 Health Care Devices Group and Interoperability and Standards Architect at Philips Healthcare.

The session will cover the basics of HL7, specific interfacing languages used at the application level to exchange electronic health information in support of clinical practice. At the end of the session, attendees will be able to describe the structure and function of HL7 message protocols and understand how and when to incorporate HL7 when designing a medical device integration plan.
