The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) announced its 2009 Vista Award recipients during the 2009 International Conference and Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design and Construction in Phoenix.
 
Three different health care centers, each in a different part of the country, picked up a vista award. The Vista Award recognizes teamwork in health care design and building. ASHE grants one award each year in three categories: New construction, renovation, and infrastructure.
 
This year’s winners are:

  • For new construction: Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Ore;
  • For renovation: SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s NICU Surgery Addition, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St Louis, Mo; and
  • For infrastructure: Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Boiler, Laundry Waste Management, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Denali Center in Fairbanks, Alaska.
