The Indiana Biomedical Society will hold its 23rd annual meeting at the Sheraton Hotel-City Center in Indianapolis on Saturday, January 25. Growing Into a Profession will focus on changes to the healthcare technology management (HTM) as well as professional growth and skill-building for its members.

Keynote speaker Manny Roman, a United States Army veteran with nearly 34 years experience in the healthcare industry, will share Twenty Conclusions regarding the good, the bag, and the ugly of the HTM business. Roman will also give a separate seminar on the use of logic versus emotion in the decision-making process.

Additional sessions from industry players include a 5- to 10-year forecast for OR integration and video technology from Black Diamond Video; tips on using reverse engineering to lower repair costs from Axess Ultrasound; previews of the latest x-ray test equipment from RadCal, a new anesthesia delivery system from Philips, and Pulse Ox technology from Masimo; and a practical Q&A on standard microscopes from Bolden Instruments. A workshop on resume writing and interview techniques will also school attendees in how to address tough questions and approach the negotiating table.
