ECRI Institute, a nonprofit organization that researches the best approaches to improving patient care, will host  “The Surgical Robot Invasion: Training and Safety,” a live web conference on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. ET.

Though robotically assisted surgery is an increasingly popular technology for hospitals looking to attract top-flight surgeons, it comes with a burden of high costs, a steep learning curve, and a heightened risk of lawsuits over adverse outcomes. In the webinar, presenters from ECRI Institute and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center will address the training and credentialing necessary with Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci robot system, the only multipurpose robotic surgery system on the market. During the Q&A session, a representative from Intuitive Surgical will be on hand to answer questions.
