The fourth in a series of webinars on clinical alarm management will review the experiences of Palomar Medical Center, Escondido, Calif, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, with setting alarm parameters. The online session is scheduled for January 28, 2014.

The topics to be covered in this session include deciding between default alarm settings and customized parameters; determining parameters based upon alarm system data; considering special circumstances when setting parameters; and maintaining documentation. The speakers for the session are Andrew Douglas Currie, CBET, MS, director clinical engineering services, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Kathleen M. Stacy, PhD, RN, clinical nurse specialist, Palomar Health. The moderator will be Marjorie Funk, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN, professor, Yale University School of Nursing.
