The fourth in a series of webinars on complying with The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal on clinical alarms is scheduled for January 28. Speakers will address the use of middleware as an ancillary alarm notification system and as a tool to collect alarm data. The topics will include an explanation of middleware, an overview of alarm notification systems, how to find the best middleware system for a facility. It will conclude with a case study on the use of an alarm notification system.

Speaking at the online event will be Paul Coss, RN, of Coss Associates; Andrew Currie, MS, CBET, Director of Clinical Engineering for The Johns Hopkins Hospital; Tim Gee, BA, Principal at Medical Connectivity Consulting; and Ramya Krishnan, MS, Project Engineer, Health Devices Group, ECRI Institute. The one-hour session will be moderated by Marjorie Funk, PhD, RN, of the Yale University School of Nursing.
