Fluke Biomedical, Everett, Wash, has introduced the ESA620 electrical safety analyzer test system, which is equipped with 10 ECG posts. The unit offers simulation of ECG and performance waveforms so electrical safety and basic tests on patient monitors can be performed with a single connection. It offers the choice of three test loads; two protective, earth-test currents; and two insulation-test voltages. New DSP technology facilitates better accuracy, an intuitive interface guides users through tests, and the display furnishes a depth of information throughout testing procedures. The system can be used worldwide to test to applicable standards, such as IEC 60601, IEC 62353, VDE 751, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601, ANSI/AAMI ESI:1993, NFPA-99, AN/NZS 3551, and IEC 61010. Optional test system automation software reduces test time and improves the quality of test results.

Asset Management and Tracking System
The Asset Management and Tracking (AMT) system from Siemens Healthcare, Malvern, Pa, helps hospital personnel monitor the location of portable equipment and medical devices in real time. Each medical device in the facility is tagged with an Ekahau Wi-Fi real-time location system tag, and AMT provides information on its location via a Web portal or pocket PC. The wireless radiofrequency solution continually monitors and reports locations of assets and generates actionable information. When coupled with ARCHIBUS, an integrated suite of applications, location information is transmitted through a Wi-Fi network to the ARCHIBUS executive information system, creating a 360° view of the facility’s assets and equipment while maintaining historical-use records. It can help streamline workflow, enhance regulatory compliance, and reduce facilities’ costs by improving equipment delivery time and use, which may eliminate the need to continually rent or buy more to replace lost or stolen items.

The X560n color laser multifunction product from Lexmark International Inc, Lexington, Ky, features business-class performance, printing at speeds of up to 31 pages per minute in black and 20 pages per minute in color. The user-friendly, all-in-one device includes a 50-sheet automatic document feeder that helps make faxing, scanning, and copying multiple-page documents easier; and networking standard, so it can be shared by multiple users to consolidate devices, save energy, and cut costs on supplies and maintenance. Users can print professional color presentations, brochures, invitations, labels, and signage in-house. It includes software to help users scan, share, and organize documents and convert scanned documents to a standard PDF format or transfer a document’s contents into a spreadsheet or word processing file using optical character recognition. The software allows customers to scan documents directly into applications on their PC.
